Brazil and Canada win four titles at Pan Am Championships
Brazil and Cuba were strong at the second day of the Pan-American Judo Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico. Maria Portela and Maria Suelen Altheman took gold for Brazil and Ivan Felipe Silva Morales and Andy Granda took men’s gold for Cuba. Shady el Nahas grabbed another gold medal for Canada equaled the strong Brazilian team that won the medal tally in Mexico. Read more

Canada strong at day one, Roper writes history
The Canadians came out swinging at the first day of the Pan-American Judo Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico, with Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard, Ecaterina Guica and Antoine Bouchard all winning gold medals on day one. Guadalajara hosts Pan American Championships
This week continental championships will be held in Europe and Pan America. The Championships will start at the 19th in Prague (CZE) and Guadalajara (MEX). African Championships are scheduled for December. In Guadalajara the cadet Championships have already been conducted and athletes are preparing for the senior championships where countries such as Brazil and Canada will have a big stake in the medal share.
