Gercsak, Matic and Dobre new Junior World Ranking leaders

In the latest World Ranking for female Juniors, Brazil has two leaders. After the World Championships in Abu Dhabi Brazil have two judoka leaders. Hungarian Szabina Gercsák took over the World Ranking of Sanne van Dijke (NED) after capturing the world title last Sunday.

Croatian starlet Brigita Matic stepped into the footlight of her sister and is now World Champion and World Ranking leader. Last week Dutch Larissa Groenwold still led the U78kg category. Romanian Stefania Dobre captured the number one position from Dewy Karthaus (NED) U57kg after her silver medal in Abu Dhabi. Due to her early loss Reka Pupp lost her leading position U48kg to Slovenian starlet Marusa Stangar.

Brazilians Larissa Farias U44kg and heavyweight Camila Nogueira kept their positions. French Astride Gneto is still number one U52kg because of her bronze medal where Distria Krasniqi took the gold medal. British Lucy Renshall won bronze in Abu Dhabi and leads the category U63kg.

None of the six Japanese World Champions leads the Junior World Ranking. Brazil dominates with four leaders, 2 in the men, two in the women’s category.
