Austrian judo mourns death of Olympian Lutz Lischka

On Sundaymorning Austrian Lutz Lischka passed away at the age of 79. He achieved 5th place in the judo middleweight division at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and was editor of the Austrian newspaper Kurier from 1990 to 2000.

With the team of Austria he took a bronze medal at the European Team Championships in Berlin in 1970. In 1970 he won the gold medal at the Polish Open in Warsaw. He was multiple Austrian Champion and passed away in 2024. Lutz Lischka was editor of the Austrian newspaper Kurier from 1992 to 2000 and Kromenzeitung 1967-1986. After 2000 he worked as freelancer for car magazines for various publishers.

Lischka was a good friend of British judolegend and tenth Dan George Kerr.
