The heavyweight final of the Grand Prix in Tashkent delivered a Mongolian winner in Temuulen Battulga who defeated Austrian Daniel Allerstorfer with an opportunist kansetsu-waza technique for ippon.

The first bronze medal fight of the last category of the day, saw Barna Bor (HUN), winner of the Astana Grand Prix last week, and the former member of the top five in the world Islam El Shehaby. Slowly coming back after a long absence, El Shehaby is still not at his best. Barna Bor won the bronze with an easy looking uchi-mata, which is far from being evident when you have the Egyptian in front of you.

The second bronze medal contest saw the victory of Elyor MASHARIPOV (UZB) against Andrey Volkov (RUS).
