As expected the French were amazing in France, still the top athletes were a bit sloppy in their finishing touch. No big issue as Audrey Tcheumeo is for sure among the seeded players for Rio 2016. Maybe it’s good to make a mistake in Samsun, to keep her sharp. Samsun winner Madeleine Malonga gained more points and is stable at 12. Despite her bronze medal Mami Umeki is selected for the Olympic Games U78kg, she is ranked 8th as best Japanese.

French Samsun winner Helene Receveaux was in a state of trance after defeating Automne Pavia. That last second secured a 7th place this week in the ranking, from 8, although Pavia got closer actually, now ranked 8th, from 13 last week.

Another French surprise was Margaux Pinot who used to fight U70kg where she is still ranked 38, but this week she took gold in her new category U63kg and jumped from 84 to 45. Pinot is 15 months younger than Clarisse Agbegnenou, the clear choice for Rio 2016.

Fanny Estelle Posvite U70kg missed the chance to climb into the top 10 after her final loss in Samsun against Marie-Eve Gahie in an all French final, but Posvite is now at 11, from 12.

U48kg Irina Dolgova lost two places from 4 to 6, at 5 Ami Kondo who secured her place for the Olympic Games with Haruna Asami still ranked 8th. One of the few solved dilemma’s in Japan last weekend. Otgontsetseg Galbadrakh added more points and can be found at place 14 after this weekend.

This week Erika Miranda changed places U52kg with Majlinda Kelmendi, the Brazilian is now second behind Andreea Chitu. Gulbadam Babamuratova (TJK) is for the first time in the top at 9, from 11.

Tunisian heavyweight Nihel Cheikh Rouhou lost points and goes from 5 to 8, but this week the African Championships will be held in Tunis, so Cheikh Rouhou may be able to take her 17th African title.
