Georgian judoka Beka Gviniashvili is 2013 and 2015 World Junior Champion and is the most successful junior athlete ever also with the Georgian Junior team. In 2016 he switched from U90kg to U100kg with successful event and amazing victories including the Grand Slam in Baku, the guarantee for Rio.

Sagaredjo Superstars continues European Club success

After the victory last year at the European Club Championships, the Georgian team of Sagaredjo Superstars now won the Golden League, the highest team title for clubs in Europe. In the final the Georgian team defeated Yawara Newa by 3-2. Read more

Georgia became the glorious winner of the second day of the European Championships for judoka U23 for men. The first two gold medals were for Georgia which doubled the two gold medals they captured in 2005 and 2009. Also gold for Russia and Ukraine. Beka Gviniashvili captures European gold medal in thrilling final

Beka Gviniashvili has taken his third different European title. In Tel Aviv he finished the trilogy in a thriller final against Yahor Varapayeu of Belarus. Gviniashvili even called it a Junior tournament and was happy to test his pace back in the U90kg category. Read more

Medals at European Junior Championships is the basis for senior success

This week the European Junior Championships will take place in Malaga in Spain. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, 51 former European Junior Champions participated. Of course triple European Junior champion Beka Gviniashvili and double champions Irina Dolgova, Kayra Sayit, Dilara Lokmanhekim, Abigel Joo, Audrey Tcheumeo, Varlam Liparteliani, Odette Giuffrida and Olympic champion Majlinda Kelmendi.
