Uzbek judoka Shaxzod Sobirov won the Grand Slam of Paris in 2015. In 2014 he won bronze at the Grand Prix of Tashkent. He qualified via the continental quota. He won the Asian Junior Championships in 2011 U73kg and switched to U81kg in 2012. Became Asian team champion with Uzbekistan in 2016.
